The Charlotte Gathering & Open House
The 5th Annual!!

August 27 - 29, 2004 -- Charlotte, NC

We would like to thank everyone that came to Charlotte this weekend!! It was great to meet so many new people from the StarQuest club and check out the different cars. We met some new 3000GT/Stealth owners as well, and got to hang out with friends old and new! The open house and cookout was great Saturday morning - there were tons of people to meet and cars to check out. The hot dogs and burgers came out great - hope everyone got their fill! A lof of people did end up at the Speedway to check out the events there. Got to see some little cars racing and I stayed for one round of the drifting which was pretty cool, though only a half dozen of the 20 cars running really did any drifting. One car did really well, and another did more 360's than I've seen in a while! Was funny to watch - amost like free-style drifting! It was so HOT on the blacktop infield and NO drinks available so not many stuck around very long out of our group. Friday night at Texas Roadhouse was great - they pretty much got us right in and service was excellent! Probably one of the best gathering dinners we've had here in Charlotte! Thanks to them for hosting us!! Sunday was fun at the dyno despite a little rain. About 10-12 cars ran. The AWD part was still giving weird numbers, but the 2WD seemed to be working no problem. The StarQuests were putting numbers between 175 and 230 (I think! might have been a couple with more) at the wheels.

Best I could tally, we had 15 Starions & Conquests and 24 3000GTs & Stealths. Awesome turnout!

Saturday
10:00 am - 3SX Open House and Cookout!!!
2:00 pm - US Drift Nationals
This is going on at Lowe's Motor Speedway and some had expressed interest so we decided to change Saturday afternoon to check that out. If it's not up to snuff, we'll try something else. It's in the Speedway infield, and you enter through the back gate.
8:00 pm - Dinner at Texas Roadhouse (right by the hotel)

Sunday
Breakfast- Bob Evans Speedway Blvd
9:15 am - Dyno fun at Taylors in Mooresville (we'll need 30 minutes to get there)
