O2 Simulator Installation Instructions |
| The simulator should come with instructions. We have those here, as well as alternate instructions put together by a 3SX customer. |

Printed Instructions: Mitsubishi 3000GT / Dodge Stealth 1. Locate secondary o2 sensors.
Also o2 simulator can be connected directly to the ECU harness. ECU located behind the radio.
Cut the wire from connector 73 and 79 about two inches away from ECU and connect the o2simulator White wires to ECU harness. Connect o2 simulator Red wire to connector 25 and Black to 26. |

Alternate Installation Instructions Created by Nick from Fort Myers Florida. I installed my O2 simulator about 4 months ago and has been working fine since. Here is my "How To" and "Why To" dealing with the 3SX brand O2 simulator. There are 4 wires coming from the Dual Simulaotor. Here is a list of the wire colors and the functions: Black: Ground *Note you will have 1 white (signal) wire from the O2 simulator if you have 2 sensors (1 primary and 1 secondary) or 2 white (signal) wires if you have 4 sensors (2 primary, 2 secondary). I bought a dual signal (2 white wires) where I only needed one, so I just taped off the second unnecessary white wire with electrical tape. And here are the color and functions of the OEM O2 sensors: Black: Heater Power
*Note that there are 2 black heater wires. You need to find the heater power wire using a voltmeter. You put your keys in the ignition in the "ON" position only. When you do what is necessary - gutting your precats or installing your precat eliminators, here is how you install your new O2 simulator. Cut or splice (however you like to connect) the following wires: O2 sensor: I know this picture is ugly, but it shows you which wires connect to which. It does not include the pretty splices or anything, just color to color. *You MUST MUST MUST cut your blue O2 sensor wire, so that the ECU ONLY reads the O2 simulator signal. The extra wire that will be left from the O2 sensor must be taped off or safely insulated, and is NO LONGER NEEDED.
Your O2 simulator now will be getting a power, a ground, and will be left giving off a FAKE signal to the ECU to trick it into thinking the O2 level is normal, and that your precats are still there. If your blue wire sends ANY signal to the ECU, it will send the CEL because the ECU will recognize an error in the necessary signal. |
