Matt
Hazen-Service Technician
Matt chose to start his performance career at the University of Northwestern Ohio. While in school, he was actively involved in University race club. Through the race club, he joined a Grand Am Porsche Team. He also worked as a technical assistant at the local dirt track. Being at the track enabled him to learn how to properly inspect and maintain a high performance vehicle. In class he learned how to properly modify and obtain the highest performance out of any vehicle. Upon graduating, he received a degree in High Performance Technology, Diesel Technology, and Automotive Technology, and a diploma in Alternative Fuels. He moved to Concord, North Carolina and worked for T&L Engine Development, which taught him more about engine machining and assembly. Wanting to expand his knowledge outside of Domestic V8's, he chose to work at Meineke Car Care Center as an assistant manager. This opportunity expanded his abilities to modify a daily driver to perform better on the street and still operate like a factory car. Outside of work, he spends time with his friends in the garage modifying anything they can get their hands on like lifting an 89 mustang to building a 1000hp 69 Chevelle. After 7 years in the performance industry, he has acquired ASE certifications in engine performance, engine repair, manual drive train and axles, and suspension and steering. These certifications have allowed Matt to perfect his skills from basic engine diagnosis to highly modifying a vehicle for each individual customer. He is now working with the team at 3SX Performance which allows him to both share his knowledge and absorb the knowledge they have accumulated through the years.
John
Green-Service Technician
John has been working on anything he could get his hands on since he can remember. He learned the basics on things like lawn mowers and farm equipment, and then got into 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles. By the time he was 14, John was working on modifying automobile engines for friends. After building a few strong street engines for himself and others he began making contacts in the local dirt racing and drag racing communities.
While in college, at Pennsylvania College of Technology, John spent most of his spare time at various race shops and race tracks turning wrenches on everything from micro-sprints to sprint cars and street cars to 8 second drag cars. After graduating with a degree in Automotive Technology he worked full time for Platts Motors Inc. as a technician where he specialized in Honda and Acura, but worked on all makes and models. John also began building, tuning, and maintaining engines for local dirt track teams along with assisting in car setups. During this time these teams won rookie of the year, multiple races, and multiple championships.
Eventually the desire to stay in the racing world, and his Fiancés
job, moved him to North Carolina. Once here he started working as a
shop mechanic and pit crew member for Brunnhoelzl Racing, in the NASCAR
Whelen Southern Modified series and working part time for Sears Auto
Center. Since Steve and Chris offered him the job at 3SX John has been
learning a new type of tuning. Bringing his knowledge of race engine
building and customer car repair with him, and combining it with the
vast knowledge of the other 3SX employees, he can hone his skills to
provide the best service he can at 3SX Performance.

Justin
Bickley-Service Technician/General shop maintenance
Justin is our DSM guy. Every shop needs one. And he is ours. he finally grenaded his stock DSM motor with over 100,000 miles on it and a 50Trim with a MAFT. He is currently rebuilding it with forged internals. Justin's interest in cars began at an early age. While he originally had very little time for anything mechanical, a chance viewing of the Steve Mcqueen film "Bullit", combined with his friends older brother acquiring a 1995 Eclipse Gsx, created a passion for anything with wheels and an engine. Originally mostly focusing his attention on classic American muscle and rat rod projects, he later began devoting a significant amount of time to the local import/sport bike scene. While attending Central Piedmont Community College's automotive tech program, he acquired a 1998 eclipse that has served as the test bed for the expansion of his knowledge of tuning and turbo systems performance. He can often be seen competing in this vehicle in the Streetwize time attack series. In addition to hands on learning while working his own personal dsm, Justin has also worked with several of his friends projects, building everything from turbocharged rock crawlers and mustang bracket racers, to 900 hp Toyota supras.
