3SX Custom NA LONG TUBE Headers Set
THESE are what you have been needing for your non-turbo 3000GT/Stealth! 3SX developed custom LONG TUBE HEADERS for the non-turbo 3000GT and Stealth! Featuring 24" individual runners for each cylinder, these are designed to strengthen the car in the mid range and top-end. And they DO! The car pulls stronger and longer when pushed hard. We also included a flex-section to maintain flexibility once installed and mated to the rest of the exhaust system.
The headers are set up for direct use on the FED-spec cars (91-93, some 94-95)
as the O2 bung is located at the back where the FED-spec single-sensor cars
have the O2 Sensor. For installation on a CALI-spec car, you will need to
have bungs welded onto the pipes and probably extend the wiring for the sensors
to reach further down the exhaust depending on where you choose to install
them. Obviously the header kit installed on a CALI-spec car will eliminate
the two pre-cats as well, so it could possibly trigger the check engine light.
The Dual
O2 Simulator or O2
Sensor Spacers should remedy that situation. We recommend running the header kit with a high-flow cat rather than a race pipe. The race pipe does make the exhaust VERY loud (even too loud for Eric, who likes a loud exhaust) so we are extending the same combo special on the Random Technology high-flow cats. We have sold HUNDREDS of these sets and while installation can sometimes be tricky (see install tips below), they are known to be a great fit with no clearance issues! NOTE: This is a LONG tube header kit - it replaces the manifolds AND downpipe, going between the heads and cat/racepipe. 3SX NA DOHC Long Headers Kit Limited Time Combo Special!! We offer the 3SX custom long rube headers for the SOHC 3S cars!! Developed and test fit on site, these are a GREAT way for the SOHC cars to pick up some kick. Initial feedback from the owner who has the prototype set is they definitely register on the "butt-dyno" and have a strong sound and performance improvement, as well as smoothing out the powerband all the way to redline. 3SX NA SOHC Long Headers Kit Limited Time Combo Special!! Installation Tips/Pointers: REAR: You will need to remove driver half-shaft and rear engine bracket - the piece between the mount and the block. The rear bracket should go back in WITH rear header piece. A couple customers a noted that you may need to grind a little on the edge of the bracket to clear the pipe - apparently on some years there is a thin "lip" that sticks out a tad but is of no structural significance. FRONT: You will need to remove the front engine bracket from the block (the bracket between the mount and block), separate the alternator bracket from engine (remove belt) to get the old manifold out and the new header in, and bend oil dip stick over to driver side a little. The header kit does NOT include the head-to-manifold gaskets. These are multi-layer metal gaskets and are often reusable. Add them to cart separately if you want them (priced each). Also, since most cat-back systems come with a gasket for between the cat and catback, this gasket is not included in the kit - add it if you need it (GASKET-7004). The gasket between the headers and main cat IS included with all kits.
