3SX Upper Engine Stud Kits

3SX has another brand new development to offer! These are STUD kits for various components of the upper engine, particularly parts that are "frequently" removed. With the intake manifolds being cast aluminum, they are a soft metal, and the female threads for the mounting bolts can get stripped, especially over time as you have to change spark plugs, gaskets, and other maintenance items. The worst thing about doing an easy job is when something as simple as a bolt thread strips, making that easy job a royal pain!

3SX Upper Engine Stud Kits offer a permanent solution to that stripped out bolt-hole problem. Each kit includes fitted studs and stainless steel nuts for the various applications. The pictures below highlight the kits available and which studs/nuts are included.

Loctite 243 Blue Medium Strength

ALL 3SX Stud Kits include a 0.5ml tube of blue Loctite. It is also available separately.

Loctite® 243™ Primeless threadlocker is designed for the locking and sealing of threaded fasteners between 1/4" and 3/4" (6 to 20 mm), which require normal disassembly with standard hand tools. Product cures when confined in the absence of air between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. The thixotropic nature of Loctite 243 reduces the migration of liquid product after application to the substrate. Provides robust curing performance. It not only works on active metals (e.g. brass, copper) but also on passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. Offers high temperature performance and oil tolerance. Tolerates minor surface contaminations from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids.
