AeroCatch Flush-Mount Hood Pins
Hood pins are a requirement with any aftermarket lightweight hood (fiberglass, carbonfiber, or other composite) to prevent them from flexing and flying off the car - the stock hood latch is not enough to safely and securely hold aftermarket hoods.
These are the latest in high-quality hood pins! Available in a variety of styles, and with the option of keyed locking mechanisms, these go far beyond standard hood pins. Their patented design recesses the mechanism below the actual surface of the hood, leaving just a smooth black flip-out latch visible, and it sits flush against your hood, with only a couple millimeters of thickness above the actual hood's surface.
They are available as a smooth top-mount flush style or with a "lipped" underside-mount flush style, minimizing its visible part down to the flip-up latch itself. All options are pictured below so you can choose which style best suits your installation and stylistic preferences!
NOTE: Sold as a matched pair of latches with pins and mounting hardware.

Which style to use?
* The "Smooth" style is a top/outer mount latch assembly (diagram below) which you cut a hole in the panel and install it outside the panel, with the latch assembly resting on top/outside the body panel. This is ideal on multi-layer panels like fiberglass hoods which have an outer and inner piece molded together.
* The "Lipped" style is an under/inner mount latch assembly which you cut a hole in the panel and install it on the underside of the body panel, with only the "raised" latch part coming through the body panel. This is ideal on single-layer panels, like a 1-piece/layer hood that doesn't have a backing structure.
Usage is quite simple. Once they are installed, you press the small tab/catch to release the spring-loaded larger latch. Lifting that latch up disengages the steel pin from the loop which is installed into the underhood. Their application goes beyond just hood pins to include removable body panels for true race applications.

These are the Under-Side Mount "LIPPED" style.
