Tech - SOHC 3S and the Rear Swaybar - Can it be Installed??

Rear Swaybar on SOHC 3000GT/Stealth?

Many people have asked about installing the Addco Rear Sway bar on the SOHC Stealth (91-96) and SOHC 3000GT (97-99). Unfortunately, the bar does NOT install on these vehicles... At least not as a "drop-in" installation. The 2 main mount locations for the bar against the subframe assembly are actually there, and the Addco bar includes the 3SX custom designed brackets to hold the bar in place there. The trick is the endlinks. The SOHC trailing arms do NOT have the mount bracket/location for the sway bar endlinks.

Below are pictures of a stock DOHC trailing arm and sway bar showing the mounting locations. In order to mount the swaybar on the SOHC, the end link brackets would need to be welded onto the trailing arm. Talk with your local shop, show them these pictures, and see if that is something they could fabricate for you and weld on. If so, get your rear bar here and the endlinks here - you'll need 2 rear endlinks, 2 nuts, and 2 nut kits to mount the Addco Rear Sway Bar.
